Failing to meet KKDIK obligations carries administrative and commercial consequences. Manufacturing or importing a substance at 1 tonne per year or more without registration is unlawful; under the no data, no market principle, the placing on the market of an unregistered substance can be halted, administrative sanctions can be applied during inspections and measures can be taken against the products. Incomplete or incorrect dossiers also lead to additional data requests and delays during evaluation. As inspections are expected to intensify after the 30 September 2026 milestone, timely compliance is critical for business continuity.
