KKDIK (the Regulation on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) is Turkey’s equivalent of the EU REACH Regulation. Both require registration of substances manufactured or imported at 1 tonne per year or more, tonnage-based data requirements, an IUCLID technical dossier and Safety Data Sheets, and both allow foreign manufacturers to appoint an Only Representative. The main differences are the competent authority and submission system — KKDIK is administered by Turkey’s Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change through the KKS system, whereas REACH is managed by ECHA via REACH-IT — as well as dossier language (Turkish for KKDIK), fees and timelines. Under KKDIK, registrants must complete their preliminary or full registration by 30 September 2026; final full-registration dates depend on the substance’s tonnage band and hazard profile. EU REACH registration deadlines, by contrast, were completed in 2018. ONAY Mühendislik supports both KKDIK and REACH registrations, including Only Representative services for foreign manufacturers.
